Type the date code from the sticker or the stamp on the battery case. Pick the brand first, because each maker uses its own code.

It depends on the maker. Some codes mark when the battery was built and some mark when it shipped to the store. The result says which.
Why does it show two years?
Many battery codes use one digit for the year, so a 3 could be 2013 or 2023. The newer date is almost always right for a battery that is still in use.
