How old is my Mitsubishi Electric furnace or AC?
Type the serial number from the Mitsubishi Electric label to see when it was built.
Reading a Mitsubishi Electric serial number
The first digit is the last digit of the year, and the second character is the month (X, Y and Z for October to December). The serial does not give the decade.
Check the refrigerant on the label. R-22 points to a unit built before 2010.
