How old is my GE appliance?

Type the serial number from the GE label to see when it was built.

Reading a GE serial number

GE serials start with two letters: the month, then the year. LR means June, in 2020, 2008, 1996, 1984 or 1972.

The year letters repeat every 12 years. GE suggests matching the code to the print date on the owner’s manual.

GE Appliances has been owned by Haier since 2016. The code did not change.
