How old is my Monogram appliance?

Type the serial number from the Monogram label to see when it was built. Monogram units are built by GE Appliances, so the serials follow that company's format.

Reading a Monogram serial number

Monogram is GE Appliances’ luxury line. Its serials start with the same month and year letters as GE.

About Monogram

  • Monogram model numbers start with Z, such as ZISB48DY for a 48-inch built-in refrigerator.
  • Monogram has been owned by Haier since it bought GE Appliances in 2016.

GE month and year letters

Used 1970 to today. Example: LR821547C

The first letter is the month and the second letter is the year, followed by six digits and usually one more letter. The year letters repeat every 12 years, so the same code fits several dates.

Worked example: ZR525322 fits December 1972 or December 1984 or December 1996 or December 2008 or December 2020. The page above explains how to tell which.

The full lookup tables are on the GE page, since Monogram uses the same code.
